Tyrone. Here is an original photo that I took in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, on 15 May 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7063 and #7195. Both are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7063 was built in October of 1956, but #7195 was built in November of 1957. They're pulling a 108-car train of empty hopper cars through the Tyrone Station on its way to Altoona and points West. Also visible is PRR #181725, an H-43 100-ton capacity Hopper Car built in the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during September of 1964. Photo taken from the Pedestrian Overpass. |
