| Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9768, #7249, and #9392. All were built by GM-EMD. #9768 is an EF-15A built in January of 1951, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in December of 1966. #7249 is an EFS-17M built in October of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9392 is an ES-12 built in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower ~ it's just being towed, however. They're pulling a 93-car mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. There're also two pushers on the tail end: PRR engines #8608 and #8613. |
