Here are nine original photos that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains at the Brickyard Crossing ~ located just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania ~ during 1964 and 1965.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (L to R) is PRR engine #7255 and three more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #7255 is an EFS-17M built in November of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They're pulling ~ or, rather, braking ~ a 117-car mixed-cargo freight train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The cabin car is PRR #477484.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7241 and #2251. Both were built by GM-EMD. #7241 is an EFS-17M built in October of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2251 is an EF-22 built in May of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They're pulling ~ or, rather, "braking" ~ a train of 98 empty "Ore Jennies" down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The cabin car is PRR #477448.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8667, an AS-18AM built by the American Locomotive Company in February of 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. It is returning to East Altoona after helping or pushing a train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin. That's the Brickyard Crossing in the foreground.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2516, #2329, and #2370. #2516 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2329 and #2370 are EF-25's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2329 was built in January of 1965 and #2370 was built in April of 1965. They are pulling a 68-car mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. The cabin car is PRR #477863. There're also two tail end pushers: PRR engines #6302 and #6307.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. At the right (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6307 and #6302. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They're serving as tail end pushers for a 68-car mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where the pushers will be uncoupled and returned to East Altoona for further assignment. At the left (R to L) are PRR engines #2357, #2535, #7112, and #7033. #2357 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling ~ or, rather, braking ~ an 83-car mixed-cargo freight train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The cabin car is PRR #477031. That's the Brickyard Crossing in the foreground.

Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5703, #5862-B, and #5848. All were built by GM-EMD. #5703 is an EP-22 built in September of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5862-B and #5848 are EP-20's and rated at 2,000 horsepower each; #5862-B was built in February of 1948, but #5848 was built in August of 1947. They're pulling an 18-car passenger train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona. At the Altoona Station, not only will the train discharge and board new passengers, but both engine and train crews will change. Wave to the Engineman!

They're pulling ~ or, rather, braking ~ a 43-car merchandise freight train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The cabin car is N-8 #478032.

All were built by GM-EMD. #9768 is an EF-15A built in January of 1951, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in December of 1966. #7249 is an EFS-17M built in October of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9392 is an ES-12 built in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower ~ it's just being towed, however. They're pulling a 93-car mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. There're also two pushers on the tail end: PRR engines #8608 and #8613.

They're serving as tail-end pushers for a 93-car mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. The cabin car pictured here is PRR #477807.
