PRR 2225, EF-22, 1966
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-June of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2225 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2225 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They're passing under four-track Signal Bridge #2396/7 with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East.
