PRR 7072, EFS-17M, 1964
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 June 1964. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7072, an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in October of 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. It's pulling a single hopper car, PRR #181055. Perhaps this is some sort of test involving one of the PRR's new H-43 100-ton capacity hopper cars. Note the emergency cut-out siding in the left foreground. Wave to the Trainman!

"Millie," 1967
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took while photographing trains on the Pennsylvania Railroad's mainline just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here is my pet dog "Millie," who's wearing her little blue coat to help keep her warm on such a cold Winter's day! Photo taken in the front seat of my 1959 Ford "Fairlane" 500. Woof-Woof!
