PRR 5707, EP-22, 1966
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-June of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5707 and four more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5707 is an EP-22 built in October of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. This A-A-B-A-A set is pulling a mail & express train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. Wave to the Engineman!
