Mid-Mountain. Here is an original telephoto view that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-June of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7137 and four more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7137 was built in June of 1957. They're pulling a TrucTrain up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. The PRR's South Altoona Shops are discernable in the distance. |
