PRR 6049, EF-30A, 1966
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6049 and four more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #6049 is an EF-30A built by GM-EMD in February of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East.
