Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-December of 1967. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6028 and #6054. Both were built by GM-EMD. #6028 is an EF-25A built in April of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower, while #6054 is an EF-30A built in February of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. They're serving as mid-train helpers on a mixed-cargo freight train heading up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. |
