PRR 2278, EF-25, 1964
Title:  PRR 2278, EF-25, 1964
Description:  WIL-ALT-64. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona on 3 July 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2278, #2273, and an another unit whose road number is not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #2278 and #2273 are EF-25's and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2278 was built in June of 1964, while #2273 was built one month earlier. They're pulling an eastbound mineral train near Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Note that one of the four mainline tracks is in the process of being torn-up and removed.
