| Tyrone. Here is ao original photo that I took in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, on 19 September 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2505, #7231-B, and #9691. #2505 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in August of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #7231-B is an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in October of 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9691 is an EF-15A built by GM-EMD as an EH-15 in April of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in February of 1967. They're pulling a 129-car mixed-cargo freight train to Enola and points East. The cabin car is PRR #477819. Photo taken just West of the Tyrone Station. Wave to the Fireman! |
